Enjoy a tour of our Victorian country home
Built in 1869, the ten-room Gothic style Wildwood House brings to life the Victorian era in Nebraska. The house reflects the faded elegance of the lifestyle of Jasper & Ellen Ware and their family who lived here “amidst the wild wood” in western Nebraska City. Guests to Wildwood house are offered a unique glimpse into everyday life in a “well-to-do” home. Step back in time as you are guided through the house by experienced and knowledgeable docents clad in Victorian attire.
Your tour begins with a knock on our door
We are open seven days a week during our regular season which runs from late April through October. We happily welcome groups large and small. Parties of up to 30 can be comfortably accommodated and handled with ease. Contact the Center to make reservations for groups of more than 10. Group tour requests may be made for evening or out-of-season appointments as well.
In 2019, the Wildwood house celebrated its sesquicentennial with an entire year of special events & programs.
To all the guests, staff, and volunteers who helped celebrate this milestone…
Thank you, we could not have done it without you!!
